Olea Cohen
ABOUT ME
I am a UX researcher and information designer with over 13 years of experience in academic, cultural, and educational contexts. I hold a Master’s degree in Information Design from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, where I graduated with the University Merit Medal in 2020. My academic background provided me with a strong foundation in information architecture, user-centered design, data visualization, and interdisciplinary research.
My career began at the intersection of science communication and visual storytelling, designing digital experiences and motion graphics to make complex knowledge more accessible. Over time, my focus shifted toward UX research, driven by a deep interest in understanding how people adopt technology and interact with digital systems in real-world contexts.
My research work has included qualitative and quantitative studies on the adoption of rainwater harvesting systems in urban communities, data visualizations to reflect the long-term trajectories of academic researchers, and service design strategies for managing educational and research programs. I thrive in interdisciplinary teams, where I lead or support research processes with a combination of empathy, analytical thinking, and collaborative facilitation.
I enjoy conducting fieldwork, synthesizing insights, and transforming findings into design opportunities that reflect people's lived experiences. I believe in design as a tool for inclusion, clarity, and social impact—especially when grounded in respectful dialogue and co-creation.
I'm particularly excited by projects that contribute to educational equity, public innovation, and the responsible integration of technology in people’s daily lives.

Professional Goals
As a UX researcher, I aim to contribute to socially meaningful projects in the fields of education, culture, and public innovation. I am particularly interested in advancing inclusive research practices, service design, digital accessibility, and data-informed storytelling. I aspire to be part of multidisciplinary teams that address complex challenges with empathy, creativity, and ethical responsibility. In the long term, I seek to work on initiatives where design empowers communities, improves quality of life, and strengthens the link between knowledge and action.
Personal Style & Design Approach
I see myself as an analytical, curious, and empathetic designer. My process is grounded in asking thoughtful questions, deeply listening to users, and understanding the social and cultural contexts where solutions will operate. I value narrative as a tool to build meaning, clarify complexity, and connect diverse perspectives. I enjoy working across disciplines, fostering inclusive collaboration, and creating participatory design spaces. When approaching complexity, I prioritize clarity, synthesis, and the creation of coherent visual systems that integrate multiple layers of information in accessible and relevant ways.
